We have seen men shatter records and children surpass their heroes. Every now and then a child dreams, where the ones they once admired and revered become their competitor and sometimes opportuned in time they outdo their hero. This is not to discredit the great men and women who through years have inspired the next generation but to highlight the fact that it’s possible. Dreams do come true.
How do you build a dream? How do you go from stands to the field, from the audience to the podium, from a want to be to the one? Do dreams only come true for certain special people or can we all live our dreams?
How do you build a dream? Belief
“Whatever we believe with feeling becomes our reality” Brian Tracy. You cannot feature in a reality you cannot picture. The dream might seem too big for you but should never be too big to pursue. It was Brad Henry that said “Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish”.
How do you build a dream? Expect
“Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self-fulfilling prophesy” Brian Tracy. Do you expect to win? Do you expect to be successful? You must be an unrepentant optimist if you will see victory. Think it, breathe it and live it.
How do you build a dream? Plan
“Planning is bringing the future into the present so you can do something about it now” Alan Lakein. Draw a road map to your future destination and get on the road. Think big, picture, eliminate distraction and maintain focus.
How do you build a dream? Focus and Concentrate
“You inevitably attract into your life people and circumstances in harmony with your dominant thoughts” Brian Tracy. Your life goes in the direction of your predominant thoughts, the question is what are you focused on? Paint a mental picture of that dream; make a mental incision of your dream into your every activity. Be the dream, live the dream, and become the dream.
How do you build a dream? Prepare
“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today” Malcolm X. It will be tough, it will be hard but preparation will get you through. “Champions aren’t made in the ring, they are merely recognized there. What you cheat on in the early light of morning will show up in the ring under the bright lights” Joe Frazier. The field has no place for spectators, get in the game.
How do you build a dream? Practice and Repetition
Push yourself till it hurts and when it does push even further. Life will be brutal, people will be nasty, and circumstances will not go as planned but you must practice. Practice till quality habits become a lifestyle. You might not be the smartest; you might not be the most talented but always be the hardest worker. Practice will beat talent any day. The most prepared will triumph over the talented.
How do you build a dream? Start
If you have a dream, the time will never be perfect so why not start now. Whether it’s a business you want to build, a degree you want to get or something you want to do, go out there today and start. Take a step in the direction of your preferred life. And do not stop till you get it!
Commit to a daily routine to grow your mind.
That’s G.Y.M for today and I trust that you are charged up and obsessed with a burning desire to succeed. Ordinary is a misnomer for you.
Plan, Act and Pursue your dream.
