Settlers and the Miracle Village

That is how it’s always been was the common phrase among settlers, do not rock the boat, do not challenge the status quo, do not dare to think differently, why do you have to always be controversial? Why can’t you just align and function within the norms?

The common chant in the square: we are settlers we settle, we settle in marriage, we settle in business, we settle in life, excitement is not for us, extraordinary is a curse, if you do not dream foolishly you will not be disappointed. These norms have passed from one generation of settlers to the next until the day, until today.

Are you a settler? Have you been told to stand in line? To not dream too hard and too high for it will all end in disappointment? That few are born wealthy and most are born broke, that you cannot become anyone for you know no one. Have you lived by the settler’s creed? To do enough to get by, work hard and maybe if you are lucky you succeed, not expect great things for such expectations end in disappointment.

Success is not for settlers, significance is not for settlers, settlers do not leave a legacy and settlers do not become great or end up in the hall of fame. This is not because they do not have what it takes but because they are unwilling to even try. They have shut down their cognitive ability to believe a different reality; they are in love with a psychotic disorder of being the lesser or at least they think they are content.

Every generation has had settlers and ours is not an exception. Passed on like DNA traits, settlers are cultured, unaware that this behavior is inconsistent with whom they were meant to be. A hero was born but has been sold a lie; a king with the attire of a slave, a prince who has been fed with nothing but gibberish that he is lesser, lesser than who?

Who set the standard? Who defined the threshold for success and achievement? Who gave roles and assigned tasks? Who placed lids on men and made others gods? Who imprisoned free men with unseen chains which limits them in the freest of climes? How did a man or woman created in Gods image, with limitless ability become sub-mortal?

My story continues, for one day a settler wondered, he wondered into a village, a village like no other, where his only known reality was challenged and where men were truly free. Free to become, free to be loved, free to dream and free to conquer. Thus was the song in the miracle village square:

Live life to the fullest or die trying

The only one strong enough to stop you is you

If you fail it’s your fault if you succeed it’s your fault

Procrastination is for suckers and luck for loafers

We are gods, we can, we will and we must

This is our village, this is our life and it will be what we make it

But the settler looked at these men in despair, wondering how a people could be so arrogant. But it was clear they had made more for themselves, the atmosphere was busting with possibility, and the miracle village as he called it had done what they settlers only dreamed of. He grabbed a man and asked how do you build dreams? The man responded it starts with refusing to settle.

Your best is ahead of you, refuse to settle.

Commit to a daily routine to grow your mind.

That’s G.Y.M for today and I trust that you are charged up and obsessed with a burning desire to succeed. Ordinary is a misnomer for you.

Plan, Act and Pursue your dream.
