Enter to Win

You cannot win the game if you never enter to play. Are you aware your life has been in session? Or are you just sitting on the side lines believing that by a stroke of luck someone will do what you were meant to do. Sometimes we act like passersby in the movie of our lives. You cannot win a jackpot if you never bought a ticket, you can’t get the job if you never applied, you can’t get the contract if you never entered a bid and you do not get the girl if you would not man up and ask her hand in marriage.

Showing up is as important as winning. No team wins a football match without bothering to turn up. I know you’re sensitive about people’s comments, but what good is a product that has never been tested, what good is a service that has never been experienced. You have sat with those thoughts, those ideas long enough, quit winking in the dark for someone to come, they won’t come not because they do not want to but because they can’t see you.

If you are going to pass that exam you going to have to register, if you are going to get the job you are going to have to apply, if you going to make a million dollars you might have to start that business, launch that product or give life to that idea.

I used to play who wants to be a millionaire in the comfort of my house and this is a story I know many can relate with. I always made a million every time I played. I always wondered why the participants on TV got certain answers wrong, but my million was in my head theirs was in their hands. They walked off the show with their winnings I got off my couch with empty pockets and an hour lost watching another man make some good money.

Deal with the fear of failure, don’t let your fear deter you and if you are rejected you will not be the first. Remember their opinion does not have to become your reality. Ask yourself what’s the worst that could happen? Don’t prepare all your life and never take center stage.

Today like every other day, tryouts are opened for your skills and talents, decide you will not be intimidated, get out there and give it your best shot, enter to win. It’s never been easier to show the world what you got, with a smart phone you could tell the world your story and you could bless the world with your gift.

Mark twain said “the secret of getting ahead is getting started”.

Vince Lombardi said “winning means you’re willing to go longer, work harder and give more than anyone else”.

Arthur Ashe said “start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

Enter and expect to win. The world calls you a winner when they get to see what you’ve always been doing all along. It was Joe Frazier that said Champions are not made in the ring they are merely recognized there.

You might need to start something, anything, register your name for something. It would be sad and it would be a great loss if you never try, think of all the great talents, wonderful books, great architecture and numerous businesses in the world today, imagine if these people never started, imagine if they never applied themselves to developing their dreams. There is magic in the world when ideas come to life.

Finally in the words of Muhammed Ali – Champions aren’t made in the gym. Champions are made from something deep inside them: a desire, a dream, a vision…the will must be stronger than the skill.

Commit to a daily routine to grow your mind.

That’s G.Y.M for today and I trust that you are charged up and obsessed with a burning desire to succeed. Ordinary is a misnomer for you.

Plan, Act and Pursue your dream.
