Fishes in Horse School

Have we been sending fishes to horse school? Is our educational system rigged? Did our parents, friends and loved ones base their judgement of our abilities on the wrong test.

We all have been judged and examined at different stages of our lives, but have you wondered if the evaluation criteria was rigged. Our performance over the years has shaped our perception of ourselves, our self-esteem, our confidence and our interpretation of what’s possible.

How powerful is the impact of a bad performance? Is your current phobia for success a subconscious program installed during the course of abysmal performance in your childhood? You flunked a test, you were laughed off a stage for a poor performance, you had a family that constantly put you down and now you feel your opinions are foolish. Are you a fish that was sent to horse school? Are you a fish in a horse race?

We all know that horses can’t swim and fishes can’t gallop, so what happens when a fish is judged but how fast it can gallop or a horse is judged by how fast it can swim? Tests and examinations are great but you must realize when test fields have changed so we do not keep playing by the same rules.

For example, it’s amazing how people having graduated from the university are still competing for grades in the real world. Passing a course in business management and running your own company is a different kettle of fish. So what, you flunked economics while on campus does that translate into dementia, does a 3rd class from a university mean you have lost the ability to learn.

David Oyedepo said “there is no mountain anywhere, every man’s mountain is his ignorance”. Someone once said you do not make a permanent decision over a temporal situation. A bad performance is temporal, a conclusion never to try is a wrong conclusion.

Remembering that failure is not an end but a bend and like Les brown says “another man’s option of you does not have to become your reality. You might have been a victim of a rigged system, you had a horse trainer for a teacher meanwhile you were a fish.

So let’s talk about horse trainers, racecourses and stallions.

Horse trainers train horses not fishes, they most likely do not know anything about fishes except maybe how to eat them. You may have been eaten by a horse trainer, they ate up your confidence, self-worth and self-esteem. Looking back, how many people especially on the black continent had teachers they wanted to be like? How many of our teachers started our wanting to teach? We have a lot of horse trainers trying to train fish.

Racecourses – courses over which races are run, horses can walk, trot, canter and gallop, fishes swim. So your exam scorecard had 4 columns with percentage ratings for your ability to walk, trot, canter and gallop. The racecourse is beautifully decorated, the stands are packed, and the crowd is cheering waiting on you to put up your best performance but there you at the starting gate wishing it is a swimming competition, but no your evaluation field has been rigged. Are you going to continue to define your person on the evaluation of a skill you don’t need on a foreign field that is alien to who you inherently are?

Stallions – Did you have this Brainiac in your class who epitomized what the horse trainer (your teacher wanted)? They were your benchmark, since you were a fish trying to be a stallion you became a cheap copy. Put this in frame that’s how it’s like when you try to be someone else, when you walk outside your purpose, when you do not know why you were placed here by God. You are trying to please a horse trainer, you are learning to gallop and you working out trying to develop the muscles of a stallion.

Quit the blame game, get off your behind and make something of your life. Don’t go to horse school as fish, stop paying attention to horse trainers and stop emulating stallions. You are beautiful just the way you and no one can beat you at being you.

Commit to a daily routine to grow your mind.

That’s G.Y.M for today and I trust that you are charged up and obsessed with a burning desire to succeed. Ordinary is a misnomer for you.

Plan, Act and Pursue your dream.
